42, The Living Room is an event space that opens as a community café in the day & while in the evening hosts a combination of pop-ups & regular events, from Supper Clubs to Creative Workshops to DJ nights. 

Events range across a variety of creative platforms with storytelling & music at its heart.  Our mission is to reach out to the local community inspiring connection & creativity. We set up a sister CIC organisation, Unlimitedreamcompany, focusing on workshops for young people mentored by industry-based professionals. 

While embracing the local, diversity is at the core of what we celebrate, encouraging cross-pollination both beyond & with the Cornish way of life. 

42 The Living Room is the brainchild of Rachel Rose Seely, an independent filmmaker.  Rachel spent many years in London at the heart of various vibrant scenes from the early underground Jungle raves in east London, where she shot the film to document the scene, to the mayhem of the Soho media scene in the 90’s moving to India & Brazil in the 2000’s .  

Arriving into Cornwall through family & friends Rachel was inspired by all the independent coffee shops & bohemian clubs that she loved & visited throughout her life. 42 The Living Room was a way of uniting all the things she’s passionate about - food, film, music & people.  Her partner Tunde Odetoyinbo has been fundamental in making this dream come true.
